We had a blast using all the mediums.

We also want to thank the Albany Area Arts Council for allowing us to paint, WITH ACRYLIC, in their beautiful building.

Today we finished day two of our middle of the Get Wild!! Mixed Media Workshop 3-day workshop.

Janice is teaching and Henrietta & Cindy are serving as her “assistants”.

We have been scraping, scratching, painting, plopping, dragging, drizzling, and pushing geometric and organic shapes with all sorts of Golden Acrylic Mediums.

Today we worked with Golden Tar Gel drizzling a free form composition. We began the under layers for the Ancient of Days Urn , with crackle past and Molding Gel.

The afternoon was spent completing a tall vertical geometricaly inspired piece with a focus on opaque vs. transparent pigments.

Each student developed personal symbolism. We all are learning oodles about Golden mediums and unique ways to jump start the creative process.

I think this afternoon our class began to realize they can paint it ANYWAY they want. The workshop participants are beginning to find individual freedom in their creativity.

Since freedom of creativity is something that is an integral part of our own creative processes; as teachers, we all three get jazzed up when the class begins to spread their own wings.

Janice, Henrietta, and I are now planning to offer this same Get Wild!! again next spring, probably in South Georgia, but outside of Albany.

We are also planning Get Water!! absolute beginners workshop taught by Henrietta next spring or summer. At some time in 2009, Cindy hopes to teach Get Color!!.

The three of us are also planning to start offering Three Days/Three Artists using Golden’s newest product line, OPEN acrylics.

Only time will tell if we can bring all of this to fruition next year, but we love to plan, and I think you will see at least 2 new workshops from us offered in 2009.
