Saturday’s Open Studio Sale

November 2009: 3rd Annual Open Studio Sale

If you live near Albany, I want to let you know about my 3rd Annual Open Studio Sale.  I will officially open at 10am and promise to be there until around 5pm.

If you need to know where I live, email or call me.  It is easy to find.

November 2009

My Annual Studio Sale is a time in which I bring out all the stuff that has piled up all year.  In a way it is a clearance sale.  In a way it is Scratch and Dent sale.

I usually don’t promote this sale very much. It is a local deal.

What to expect?

I have a lot of paintings that I never post on my website or take to galleries.  Usually these paintings don’t fit in with my “official” style.  Whatever that means.

I also produce a lot of small paintings in preperation for larger ones.  Some of these which are on paper I list as my Twenty-Somthings.  But listing these online is a pain, so I don’t always get around to putting them  all on the Internet.

I also have a secret habit of doing traditional oil landscapes that I don’t publicie.  To learn about painting, I believe you have to paint all sorts of things, in all sorts of ways.  The more I try, the more I learn.  I never consider this a waste of time.

My Open Studio sale will also include some older large works, things that I am no longer comfortable exhibiting since my style continues to change each year.  I mark these down significantly.  You will have to show up to actually find out just how low I will go.

And just for kicks and I have a lot of odds and ends to offer up as well.  I have some matted prints of my work which I no longer actively sell.  I have blank journals with my artwork on the outside.  I really don’t know what all I am going to find when I open THE CLOSET and start digging things out.

Can I use my Coupon?

Short answer: of course !!

Long answer:  Earlier this year I mailed a small art coupon to most of my collectors who had recently purchased something from me.  I sent one for the collector and one for them to share with a friend.   If you didn’t get one, then maybe you should buy more from me next year.  I like to take care of my collectors.  You are each very important to me and I treasure you support.

You are more than welcome to these Coupons at my Open Studio Sale.

Two Weekends: UPDATE:   Second Weekend CANCELLED.  I practically sold out last Saturday.  I don’t really have enough for a second weekend.

There is currently a 60% chance of rain this Saturday.  My studio is inside, so I am having the sale regardless of the weather.   But if you don’t want to get out in the rain, I am doing this all over again on Saturday, December12th, 2009.  So stop by then if you prefer.

This year I expanded to the sale to two different weekends because I got tired of hearing from people that they didn’t know about it and wanted to come over later. So I will leave most of it up until the second weekend on Dec. 12th.

  1. To become truly immortal, a work of art must escape all human limits: logic and common sense will only interfere. But once these barriers are broken, it will enter the realms of childhood visions and dreams. – Giorgio de Chirico
