My Summer Studio

I have to admit since I have been hanging out on Facebook and Twitter, I don’t blog as much anymore. It seems like such a big commitment to type complete paragraphs after using Twitter’s 140 characters to communicate.

I have moved into what I will call my Summer Studio.

Last year I vacated the garage studio due to lack of air conditioning. I set up at Livi&Co on Ledo Road. It was great painting at Livis. I enjoyed it a great deal. I also learned that I prefer to paint in private, and I prefer to paint right here at home. It is easier be creative when I have access to my easel 24/7 without having to hop into the car.

This summer I have converted the sun porch into my studio with the help of some old white sheets. It is bright in there, a little too bright with the full morning sun, but I am painting in cool comfortably conditioned air this summer.

The studio conversion came just in the nick of time; as hubby attempted to repair the garage door last weekend. The door didn’t close evenly due to the fact they contractor allowed shabby work and the concrete under the door is uneven. (please don’t get me started on THAT topic!) So water leaks under the door when it rains, which has now led to rotten wood that must be replaced on our not yet four year old home.

To summarize, the door isn’t working properly since the recent repair and will need further Hubby adjustments. When I was younger, I would have complained about this. But now, I am grateful hubby attempted to repair the door and I am sure when he gets another free weekend he will work on it some more.

Hope you like my Summer Studio. Would love to see your studio pics as well.
